Here at the Inn Town Campground, we’re always brainstorming ways to make camping easier, creative solutions to remove those barriers that may keep people from deciding to spend their weekend camping. Don’t want to bother packing and pitching a tent? Rent one of our furnished glamping tents. Don’t want to drive way out into the middle of nowhere to camp? Our wooded 15-acre property is just a mile from downtown Nevada City. Want to bring your RV with all the comforts of home? Yep, we’ve got hook-ups for those too.
When it comes to a no-fuss solution for making dinner at camp, we can always recommend a take-out or sit-down option at one of our many stellar local restaurants. (We highly recommend wood-burning-fire pizza from Three Forks, homemade mint ice cream from Treats or the blackstone benedict from South Pine Cafe.) But let’s say you want to cook at camp—you want that experience, you want to enjoy a home-cooked meal around the picnic table or campfire—but you don’t want to deal with menu planning, a trek to the grocery store, and the inconvenience of that inevitable item or ingredient you forgot to pack (forgot salt or olive oil again? Oops). Enter Fireside Provisions, a meal kit designed specifically for campers. It’s like Blue Apron or Hello Fresh but with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners you can cook over a camp stove. We loved the great snacks (like curry cashew mix or honey peanut butter and apples), the easy-to-follow directions, and of course, the s’mores kit (chocolate grahams with espresso marshmallows—yes, please!). If you’re staying in a glamping tent and don’t have a camp stove, you can always use our communal kitchen, complete with oven, refrigerator and barbecues.
Nevada City offers something for everyone. If you like events check out the First Friday Art Walk, Worldfest Music Festival, Nevada City Classic Bicycle Race or the Nevada City Chamber Summer Nights, Nevada City Film Festival Movies under the Pines… or maybe you want to go sit by the South Yuba River? Bring your bike, go for a mountain bike ride? Bring the kids and hop on the Nevada County Narrow Gauge railroad. Regardless of your weekend agenda, there’s something for everyone in Nevada City.
